The crockpot is a very efficient time saving device. They are extremely useful because there are days when you don't have time to cook, when you have busy day, stuck late at the office and the last thing you want to do when you get home is cook. So what can you do I hear you asking ???? This is where the crock - pot comes to the rescue. Every morning before you go to work prepare the basis of meals by adding meats, liquids, seasonings or other ingredients to the crock pot. Leave it to cook slowly all day(this is safe as long as it is turned on low) and then all you need to prepare when you return home is a salad and a couple of rolls. Another plus is that the crockpot doesn't heat up the kitchen unlike cookers or stoves and can cook desserts in them such as apple dumplings.
